My parents decide we need to leave home a ridiculous amount of time too early. It's a bit more than an hour to get there. Our flight was at 230. We left at 1030 (and then was begrudgingly pushed back).
We got put on an earlier Newark flight during to some major delays so we left even later then 220. Yet somehow we wound up arriving about the same time we were supposed to. Got some delicious pizza #wheninjersey.
Our next flight, which was boarding as we found out about the bombings in istanbul, wound up being delayed as well and we were on the tarmac for nearly the entire run of "how to be single"(btw for anyone who has watched that, does anyone else see how Rebel Wilson could have been the main characters fight Club persona and not an actual character?) Yet again we arrived slightly later then our intended arrival.
We spent quite a bit of time in the Brussels airport which I lager learn is ironic and or coincidental on the day of the Istanbul bombings.
I sleep on every plane nearly the whole time, Dad struggles. Yet I'm fighting jet lag and my 60 year old dad is totally fine.
We arrive in the suburbs(our hotel is next to a mall) and after some down time head to the Jewish quarter for dinner. Our goal is to stay up til 9 but it's nearly 8, and that's good enough, and we have an 815 tour booked to check out auschwitz-birkenau. Diving right in.
