Oslo

We gave it one full day. I think that was generous.

Since we didn't do anything viking in our 4 days in Copenhagen our first point of attack was the viking ship museum. It was located on a peninsula just out of the city. To get there we needed to take a bus for 20 minutes and pass by the harbor, the fjord and cows. Lots of them.

The museum was small. It had two nearly in tact ships and one not so intact ship.  You were able to view on ground level or from ariel view. It also had objects found within the boats such as sleds, weapons, food etc. The ships were burial mounds for people of importance, even though they were also used as sea going vessels in their time as well!!  We felt good that we saw all parts of the museum!

We then hopped back on the bus and went to the Vineland (it's spelled wrong. There is a g in there somewhere) sculpture garden. The sculptures were different then classical or renaissance style sculptures. Many were crass, silly or outright disturbing. But were definitely different! 

We were blessed with such good weather we didn't think it would change. But it did. As we took the metro up to the ski jump for sweeping city views, the clouds were so heavy and the sky so rainy we couldn't see it all at first. But it did break and we were able to see the views. Our biggest note was how quick it changed from city to pasture.

We checked out the ski jump, but since we didn't pay to go up in it or into the museum we know very little. Oh, we did eat wild raspberries.

We went back to the room to figure out where to eat. After circling the area around our hotel(going 20 minutes away at least) we wound up at this Italian restaurant right across from our hotel. It was absolutely delicious. We had steak and ravioli!  On our way back to the hotel we ran into an old coworker of mine( I did knoe she was here somewhere bc of ig) who was in her honeymoon. I didn't want to take any of her time up due to that but it was great to see her!  It wasn't the first time I'd run into someone in another country and probably won't be the last!!

Thus ended our day in Oslo. We have a bit more to go tomorrow, but not much more then brunch probably before we go to the airport and head our separate ways. :(
