24 hours in Malacka

With how long it takes to travel and we arent young anymore, a two nights stay at the pace and way we are going really amounts to one full day in the place.

Today we started with a hotel breakfast, part a la carte, and part buffet that had western, Indian and Chinese food. Then we crossed the river to head to the old Dutch fort, we paid to go into the ethnog6eaphy museum and did not realize how extensive it was, nor how informative.  It told the story of the people of Malacka; both historically and culturally with a room devoted to pottery, weapons and even wedding traditions.  It also included a small education museum above!  I've never seen so many placards devoted to the topic!

After we went to an old church stop a hill, an old fort and then we headed for the palace. Two false turns had us really earning our steps and we found ourselves in a more residential part of town. Before we knew it, we were actually in a mall!  This was of course welcomed due to aircon!  I of course, barely eat when it's hot out so we didnt try any new dish. We did however finally make it to the palace, right next to the fort from earlier and enjoyed it and its gardens.

We returned to the hotel so we could take advantage of the rooftop infinity pool and decided to make our evening a little special, bu getting dresses up for the bbq dinner the hotel has every saturday. I think, unfortunately that we would have fared better in the streets of the city, as it was much more expensive and not as tasty. We finished the evening on a river cruise, where the shore was lit up with so many lights.  Joe, apparently loves things lit up!
