We left on Tuesday morning and somehow, got extra legroom seats with no one in front of us!!! We also had a lovely chat with one of the stewardesses!! The only real negative was a very unruly child behind me, the mom eventually had to give up her extra legroom seat to trade seats with him because he wouldnt listen to anyone. To be fair he wasnt trying to misbehave but he could not stop tapping his screen and kicking his legs. We also had some turbulence. 14.5 hours flew by pretty easily. (4 or so movies helped).
We arrived Wednesday evening. The airport was like empty and funneled us right into a shopping area, which was surprising. Customs line was nonexistant and our bags were out before we were! Score! We hopped in a cab and were at our hotel within 30 minutes for less than $25!!
Our hotel mind you had an excellent location. Also, as I remember, none of the singapore hotels were rated high(like our hotel bragged on being 8.4 which in the travel world is not the best). And compared to the other places we were looking into, it also wasnt cheap at all. So I made a choice. And it was a box. A literal box. Happy honeymoon to us. When you walked in there was a bathroom in one corner, a bed high off the ground in the second and third corner and we were standing in the 4th corner. I could almost stand in the middle and touch all sides. Almost. Swing and a miss.
But it did have a great location we were to find out when we ambled down for some breathing room and some food. We asked the front desk their opinion and they muttered something that didnt quite make sense. So we were off. We saw a few places that iuld have worked but decided to go further. We found these small type complexes that had everything, even a chilis!! We did not go to Chilis. We were in the Clark Quay neighborhood and quickly found a riverwalk, that was lined with restaurants. We chose a vietnamese street food place and probably had one of the most expensive meals of our trip. We had frog legs, shaking beef and other delicious meats.
We walked around the lit up river and made it back to our hotel, to get ready for an action packed day.
